It is hard enough to manage an individual, so what more if you are managing an entire department or company? That is why as a manager, you should stay on top of your game by taking care of your health. A healthy manager has increased energy levels and stamina, better stress management, enhanced analytical and cognitive thinking ability, improved production and performance, more confidence, and more positivity. So, here are some tips on staying healthy while working from the top of the corporate ladder.
First, never skip breakfast. This is the most important meal of the day, giving you the energy you need to last for the entire work shift. Also, make sure you eat healthy food during breaks like fruits, vegetable salads, whole wheat bread, and the like. In addition, drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep you hydrated.
Shield yourself from disease by practicing good personal hygiene. Take a bath every day, and wash your hands frequently. Remember to keep your workplace clean as well, since infectious bacteria can collect in the keys of your phone and computer keyboard along with high traffic areas such as the doorknob of your office door. Make sure that you have someone disinfect your office before you come in.
Do not force yourself to do extra work when you are tired or sore. Get out of your office, stretch, and walk around for a few minutes. You can also try to do a few exercises during a break. Taking breaks actually keeps you in shape and makes you more productive. It is also advisable to take a few days off to relieve stress, which largely contributes to illness. Finally, engage in regular exercise. It is wonderful what regular exercise can do. It keeps you fit, revitalises you, and makes you more active at work.
