Cleanliness aside, keep your office supplies accessible but not in your way. That means extra pens, pencils, clips, papers, folders, and other office materials must be placed in drawers and supply boxes. What are left on your desk should only be your needs for the present task such as your desktop, printer, and maybe a few files. In addition, invest in convenient gadgets that can help make your work effective such as an alarm clock, laptop, and computer peripherals. You should also arrange your office furniture and paraphernalia in such a way that everything would be within easy reach.

Keep hard copies of files, documents, and invoices inside file cabinets. Better yet, if possible, do not keep hard copies. Just save the files in your computer. Not only do you save space and reduce trash, you are also helping in environment conservation. In addition, keep a garbage can and shredder near you so you could get rid of unneeded documents. Finally, keep decorations such as family portraits, souvenirs, and other knickknacks to a minimum because they can easily distract you.
